About Heroufut

The name

Heroufut began as a word on a scrap of paper, and we kept it because it sounded like the opening of a tale told aloud. The “hero” in it is the old kind: not a costumed figure, but the person at the centre of a story, the one whose small decisions the listener follows to the last page. At our table, that person is you.

The book

We wanted a social casino that felt calm. Most of what we saw elsewhere was loud — flashing lobbies, timers, offers sliding in from every edge. We went the other way and borrowed the manners of an illuminated manuscript: generous margins, ruled columns, two inks and a little gold where a number deserves to be noticed.

There is only one game. That was a choice rather than a limitation. A single, well-made blackjack table, with rules written beside it and a dealer that never deviates from them, seemed more honest than a hundred half-explained games.

The arrangement

Heroufut is social gaming only. Coins are play tokens issued freely, and they are never sold, never redeemed and never converted into money, goods or prizes. You do not need an account, and the game keeps no record of your hands after you close the tab. We do not offer, link to or advertise real-money gambling of any kind.

The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over, wherever they happen to be reading. It is written in English and makes no assumptions about which country you call home.

The keepers

A small team writes, designs and maintains these pages. We care about type that is easy on the eyes, arithmetic that is easy to check, and play that stays a pastime. When something on the site reads wrongly or a hand seems to have been scored in error, we would genuinely like to hear about it — the Support page explains how to reach us.
